DIRTY TACTICS, THIS HAPPENS TO ALL TAXI COMPANYS AT MOST TIMES, THIS IS WHERE YOU NEED QUALITY OPERATORS THAT CAN TELL THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN REAL JOBS AND BULLSHIT ONES. YOU NEED TAXI OPERATRS NOT TELEPHINISTS ANSWERING PHONES AND DISPATCHING VEHICLES. BUT YOU GOT RID OF THEM AND REPLACED THEM WITH AS MANY PEOPLE AS YOU COULD FIND FOR MINIMUM WAGE, WELL DONE GREEN CABS, AND WHATS THIS REGENCEY AND CITICABS THING GOING ON , LTD, STATESMAN V8, FORD FALCONS, HOLDEN COMMODORES ALL THESE ARE PRETTY GREEN NOT, WELL DONE MR GREEN CABS, WE ORDERED A GREEN CAB AND WERE TOLD SORRY 40 MINUTE WAIT BUT WELL SEND YOU A CAB, ALONG CAME A FORD FAIRLANE, THANKS FOR SENDING A GREEN ALTERNATIVE. WHY PLANT TREES AND CLAIM TO BE GREEN AND SEND A FAIRLANE HOW MANY OF YOUR TREES DIED FROM EXHAUST OMMISIONS FROM SUCH VEHICLES AGAIN WELL DONE MR GREEN CABS. AND WHO OWNS GREEN CABS ANYWAY ALL THESE BLOGS CLAIM ITS MR CALLUM BROWNE, BUT AT A RECENT ENGAGEMENT I WAS TOLD BY A VERY DRUNK DAVE JORDAN THAT HE WAS THE MAJOR SHAREHOLDER AND EVERYONE INCLUDING CALLUM DOES WHAT HE SAYS, IS THIS TRUE….ANYWAY I AM LEAD TO BELIEVE THAT CALLUM IS A GOOD MAN WITH GOOD INTENTIONS AND A ASTUTE BUSINESSMAN, AS PER YOUR OTHER ARTICLE IF YOU WANT TO SAVE YOUR BUSINESS STOP LISTENING TO PEOPLE THAT HAVE A CORPORATE CABS MENTALLITY, DRACONIAN MANAGEMENT STYLES, I CAN THINK OF 3-4 PEOPLE IN YOUR MANAGEMENT TEAM THAT WERENT LIKED AT CORPORATE, ARENT LIKED THERE , HAVE MINIMAL INPUT OR EXPERIENCE IN THE TAXI INDUSTRY, ASK YOURSELF HOW MANY PEOPLE THERE ARE ACTUALLY WORKING ,OR BUSY LINING THEIR OWN POCKETS IN MANY DIFFERENT WAYS AND DEALS AT YOUR EXPENSE. YOU DONT HAVE A TAXI BACKGROUND DONT BE LED UP THE GARDEN PATH BY A SECOND RATE TEAM THAT CAME FROM CORPORATE CABS, THE PATH ENDS IN BANKRUPCY….

Yellow cabs resist green edict
A group of New York taxi owners is suing the city over a plan to turn the entire fleet of cabs “green” by 2012, saying the plan compromises safety and is unconstitutional.
Under the plan, promoted as an environmental model for other large cities, every new taxi must get at least 100km per 7.8 litres, a target now met by hybrid and clean diesel cars.
The Metropolitan Taxicab Board of Trade, an association of taxi owners accounting for about a quarter of the city’s 13,000 yellow cabs, filed a complaint in Manhattan federal court seeking an injunction to halt the regulation.
The city is reported to have about 1400 hybrid taxis already.

Ok -what actually happened was that a reporter contacted me after reading the blog http://wellingtonista.com/it-aint-easy-being-green-cabs
he asked me if those events had actually happened. I said yes but what are you going to do, it is the taxi industry, isn’t it.
He asked for a few more bits an pieces around how it was going etc. etc. and asked if he could write a story on it.
I said sure. The resulting spin from the reporter was as you saw in the paper. We were actually pretty philosophical about the whole thing and still are.
Now for the record we have 5 dispatchers with extensive industry experience and some newer people without but you have to start somewhere right!!!???!!!.
We never got rid of any experienced dispatchers!
Given your knowlege of what is apparantly going on in the industry, and your angle I and I am sure anyone reading this would be very surprised if you had indeed ever ordered a green cab. If you had and we had offered to send you an alternative if we had had no Green Cabs free (demand is very high you realise) then if it was one of the companies we dispatch for, your ride nor any emissions from it would not have killed any trees. In fact quite the opposite, you can take solice in the fact that your ride would likely result in the planting of more trees around the world.
There are also no draconian management styles, Green Cabs is one of the few companies where drivers can walk into the managers offices, sit down, tell us their concerns, ideas for improvement etc and leave feeling respected and listened to.
If the team is second rate as you put it would you care to enlighten me on why it is that the big boys seem to be copying what we do. It begs the question is the market leader the one with the most taxis or is it possibly the one that others watch and follow.
Please if your going to post something like that at least have the kahunas to say who you are. That is the greatest thing, and worst thing about blogs people can say anything they want about anyone with total anonymoty. Often readers have no idea what’s fact and what’s fiction.
I hope your weekend is a good one.
